MCP Server Announcer

Announces newly published MCP servers, one post per server, twice a day.

View it on Reddit's app directory

What it does

  • Reads this catalogue for servers published since its last run.
  • Applies a quality bar, so it announces the few that are documented well enough to be worth a stranger's attention rather than the roughly 350 published each day.
  • Writes a full description: what the server does, who publishes it, how to install or connect it, what credentials it needs, the licence, and what is not known.

How it posts

At most three posts per run and two runs a day. Dry run is on by default, so a moderator sees what it would say in the app logs before anything is submitted.

Where it reads from

  • mcpservices.info

What it does not claim

  • It has not run the servers it announces. No testing, no code audit, and it never connects to a publisher's endpoint to see what it offers.
  • Anything a vendor says about itself is quoted as a claim with a link, never asserted as fact.
  • The catalogue score measures how well documented and verifiable a server is, not how good it is.

Installing it

A moderator installs it from Reddit's app directory onto a subreddit they moderate. It posts only there. Settings live in the subreddit's app settings, and it can be paused with one switch or removed at any time.

The other app

The terms and the privacy policy cover this app as well as the site. In short: it holds nothing about any person, does not read who posted anything, and stores only enough to avoid posting the same thing twice.
